Meredith Campbell of Bad Girls Yoga Finds Joy in Every Pose
In the vibrant fitness scene of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, there's a yoga movement that's breaking stereotypes and creating waves of positivity. Bad Girls Yoga instructor Meredith Campbell brings an infectious energy to her practice that's changing how people think about yoga, one Namaste then Rosé class at a time.
How did you come across the opportunity to teach with Bad Girls Yoga?
"I was introduced to Gillian by our mutual friend and fab instructor, Victoria. The rest was history, as it was meant to be!" This serendipitous meeting would go on to shape her career, as well as the lives of numerous students who've found their way to her classes.
The Heart of Practice
What does yoga mean to you personally? How has it impacted your life?
For Meredith, yoga transcends physical practice and has greatly improved her day-to-day. "Yoga has gifted me the space to honor my body every day, deepen my self-awareness, and embrace the joy in every twist, stretch, and breath along this playful journey!"
There's often a misconception about yoga being slow and boring. What's your take on this?
"The truth is, you just haven't found the right environment or teacher," Meredith explains. "Yoga is about embracing who you are, learning to connect with both your mind and body, and discovering the fun, rewarding, and healing benefits it offers. When you realize that yoga helps you slow down to speed up the incredible parts of your life, it becomes a powerful tool for transformation and growth."
Inside the Class
Tell us about your class style. What can someone expect when they walk into your session?
Meredith's enthusiasm is contagious as she describes the experience: "BadGirls Yoga is the ultimate fun, empowering, and girls-girl bonding experience where we laugh, share silly jokes, and try new poses together with no judgment. Whether we're jamming to hip hop, house, classic tunes, or country—anything goes—it's all about feeling the vibe of the tribe and having an amazing time while we flow, laugh, and support each other every step of the way."
Do you have a favorite pose that particularly resonates with you?
"Dancer is my favorite yoga pose because it beautifully combines strength and grace, requiring both physical power and deep focus to balance and flow. It's a perfect reminder of how we can be strong yet fluid, grounded yet expansive, all at the same time."
Building Community
What drives you to continue teaching yoga to others?
The sense of community is what keeps students coming back, creating bonds that extend beyond the studio walls. "I love teaching yoga because it brings people together, creating lasting friendships and a community where fun vibes flow freely. Seeing students connect, laugh, and grow both on and off the mat fills me with so much joy and gratitude!"
Welcome to the Mat
For someone feeling nervous about trying yoga for the first time, what would you say to them?
"It's completely normal to feel nervous, but yoga is all about meeting yourself where you are, without any pressure. You don't have to be perfect,” she insists, “just show up, breathe, and listen to your body. Every class is a journey, and there's no right or wrong way to do it—just come as you are and have a great time!"
Any practical tips for first-timers preparing for class?
Meredith’s top tips for attending your first Bad Girls Yoga session are pleasantly straightforward: “Bring your fun vibes, a bottle of water, and a towel! Come ready to laugh, try new poses, and let loose,” Meredith suggests. “Leave any expectations at the door and just enjoy the energy of the class. It's all about having fun, staying hydrated, and embracing the good times with the crew!"
